About California Proposition 65


California Proposition 65, officially known as The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law in the State of California (U.S) that is intended to protect consumers from exposure to substances that may cause cancer or reproductive harm. When one or more of the substances on the Proposition 65 list is present in a product and the product is known to present a potential exposure risk to consumers above a safe harbor level, manufacturers are required to provide warnings prior to or during consumer purchase.
